CODING COMPETITIONS

Our students at the SRA attend a wide range of competitions organised by us. Our competition fields and large classrooms allow for a venue for these competitions to take place. We also compete in competitions organised and hosted by other schools around Australia and around the world.

AUSTRALIAN MATHS TRUST CODING CHALLENGE

The AMT Computing Challenge, previously known as the Oxford University Computing Challenge (OUCC) is a online competition that uses students' skills further to produce programmed solutions to computational thinking problems.

COMPUTATIONAL AND ALGORITHMIC THINKING

The Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) competition gives students the opportunity to develop their problem-solving skills through algorithmic thinking. The competition incorporates unique ‘three-stage tasks’ that encourage students to develop informal algorithms and apply them to test data of increasing size or complexity.

NASA SPACE STATION PROGRAMMING CHALLENGE

The NASA Space Station Robotics Programming Challenge is run by NASA to help automate tasks for astronauts in space.

Students will use Java to create Android applications for a robot in the International Space Station to perform a variety of tasks whilst competing with teams from around the world.
